Hello! It's been a while. We have finally come out of hibernation.
It's finally springtime! It is nice to see the sun shining, leaves coming back on trees, and warmer weather. Even the Covid pandemic looks like it may be turning a corner. Masks are coming off!
We at Maximyz are excited to see what the future holds and are pleased to announce new partnerships and new developments.
That's Interesting!
We learned something new called the hot and cold empathy gap. It describes how we tend to poorly guess how we will react, behave, and make decisions under different circumstances. How we understand it is that we have a hot and a cold state of mind. A hot state of mind is when we are in the moment. Someone cuts in front of us on the freeway, or we meet someone very attractive, or we are very hungry. A cold state of mind is when our emotions are calm and less influenced. We are relaxed, without threats or distractions.
In a cold state of mind, we tend to predict that we will exhibit more rational behavior in those 'hot' moments. We incorrectly tell ourselves, I am going to eat a salad at dinner tonight. I can do it. Then dinner comes and everyone is ordering steaks, lasagna, and alfredo. We smell all the restaurant smells and we open the menu and look at the salad. Our mouth waters and we don't want to be that person who orders a salad. So, our prediction was not so accurate after all. Have you ever had this happen to you? Events
We really want people to be able to experience our online collaborative adventure challenges. So, we are going to start having regular events where anyone can get a chance to experience it for FREE!

Current Thoughts
As we are starting to see masks going away, things opening up, and people going back to work, we see a real need for people to get reacquainted with each other. It may feel a bit awkward to show your face back at work and actually talk to a real live human again.
Of course, we are going to recommend playing a game together. Games are a great way to bond, socialize, and rekindle relationships. It can be any kind of game, cards, tennis, darts, anything.
So get out there and play together!
What's New at Maximyz?
We have been focused on growing our portfolio of games, our skills, and our partnerships.
Games
We now have 6 total games available online for purchase and more on the way. They are ready to go and there are 2,4, and 6-person versions. We currently offer a 7-day, 100% unlimited license and are happy to discuss longer-term licensing for those who are interested.
Keep an eye out for our new 6-person adventure on bias and stereotypes. It is going to be a fun mystery solver with lots of twists and turns.
